Grappling and Stick Fighting for a good cause

The martial arts community has long been known for its sense of camaraderie, respect, and mutual support. Recently, a beloved member of our extended community passed away, leaving behind a grieving family in need of both emotional and financial support. To help, a special charity event will be held, combining three exciting and challenging martial arts disciplines: Aikido, BJJ, and Pentjak Silat. This event is not only a way to honor the memory of our fallen friend but also a powerful way to give back to the family in their time of need.

We are hosting this event in honor of David Goodman after he passed away unexpectedly on August 11th. David was known for his unmatched quick wit and sense of humor, commitment to helping others, pride in his faith, and above all, immeasurable love for his family.

To honor David's memory, we are requesting donations to help care for Melanie and Layla, as the Goodman family relied heavily on David's income. A gift of any amount is greatly appreciated.

Community Support and Solidarity

In martial arts, family extends beyond blood ties—it’s the community that trains, grows, and supports each other in times of need. This event exemplifies that spirit of unity. All participants are united by a common goal: to support the family of a dear friend.

This is a celebration of life through martial arts and by participating in the event or donating to the family’s GoFundMe page or to Unimar Outreach Group directly, we can help those in our community who are in need.

Event Details

The event will be held on October 20th, 10:00 am-1:00 pm at American Muay Thai, 8805 Orchard Tree Lane, Towson, Maryland 21286. We have two amazing instructors lined up, Scott Sobel of Pentjak Silat USA and the Baltimore Aikido Academy along with Monroe Hall of Monroe Hall BJJ.

We ask that anyone participating please provide a donation of $40. This can be given directly to the Unimar Outreach representative at the event or donated to the family directly via their GoFundMe page.
